About The Empowered Conference

A Gathering of Pastors and Spiritual Leaders

From scriptures, we understand that every child of God is ordained to live a lifestyle of exploits.

This is because exploit is the birthright of the redeemed of the Lord.

Also, for every believer, the scripture makes it clear that: Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world.

A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid (Matthew 5:13-14).That means, our destinies are not just any kind, but an enviable one. Therefore, our call into the faith is unto glory and honour, not to shame, frustration and reproach (2 Peter 1:3; 1 Corinthians 2:9).

However, we understand from scripture that, for our destinies to be great and glorious, it will require the ministry of the Holy Spirit for full delivery. This is because there is no exploit outside the Holy Spirit (Zechariah 4:6; Psalm 92:10-15).

Samson was born with a lot of potentials. He was to be God’s instrument to rescue Israel from the oppression and grip of the Philistines. To accomplish his mandate, God empowered him with enormous strength. He was inspired and stirred up by the Spirit of God to accomplish his mission as judge and deliverer in Israel, Judges 13:25.

Though known for his feats of strength and listed in the Hall of faith (Heb. 11:32-34), he fell as a result of disobedience, carelessness, and uncontrollable habit. Considering the level of laxity in our time, this study is not only timely, but also a serious warning to the believer of today.

Some of us are living with such a false confidence today that we cannot fall. We shall in this study consider the life of Samson who though highly anointed by God (i.e. Empowered), and enjoyed much of His grace, fell at the end and died with his enemies.

There is only one eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing and everywhere-present Triune

God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit— who is the creator and sustainer of all things

(Deuteronomy 6:4-5; 1 Timothy 2:5).

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life, died to make

atonement for the sins of all mankind, was resurrected and is now mediator at

the right hand of the Father. He is coming again in power and glory for His

believing followers, and is the only Savior of mankind (John 1:1, 14; Titus 2:11-14).

He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, regenerating all who

repent of their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. He sanctifies, empowers,

teaches, guides and comforts the believers (John 16:7, 8, 12-15).

The Bible is the inerrant, divinely inspired Word of God and authoritative in all

matters it addresses (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).

Salvation is the result of genuine repentance of sin and faith in the atoning work of Christ. It brings forgiveness to the repentant, makes him a participant of the

divine nature and gives peace with God. We call this new birth (Titus 3:5; 1 Peter

We believe in the invisible and universal Church as the living Body of Christ. It is

composed of all believers in the Lord Jesus who have been vitally united by faith

to Christ, its living Head and sovereign Lord (Matthew 16:18; Hebrews 12:22-24).

We believe there are two Christian ordinances: baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe they are outward rites appointed by Christ to be administered in each church, not as a means of salvation, but as a visible sign and seal of its reality (Acts 8:36; 1 Corinthians 11:24-34).
